Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has ordered the immediate suspension of all illegal mining activities across the state. The governor cited rising security threats and environmental hazards linked to unregulated mining as the main reasons for the action.

According to the governor, illegal mining not only endangers lives but also destabilizes local communities. He warned that anyone found engaging in unauthorized mining operations would face strict penalties under the law.

Governor Sule stressed the need for sustainable and legal mining practices. The state government plans to strengthen regulatory measures and increase monitoring to ensure compliance and protect residents.

The suspension aims to safeguard the environment, maintain public safety, and promote responsible mining practices throughout Nasarawa State.
