Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has ordered the immediate suspension of all illegal mining activities across the state. The governor cited rising security threats and environmental hazards linked to unregulated mining as the main reasons for the action.

According to the governor, illegal mining not only endangers lives but also destabilizes local communities. He warned that anyone found engaging in unauthorized mining operations would face strict penalties under the law.
