Modi, Putin approve India-Russia visa-free policy, citizens’ employment

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin have approved a new visa-free agreement between India and Russia. The policy allows citizens of both countries to travel without a visa for short-term visits. Officials say this move will strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two nations.

The leaders also agreed to expand opportunities for citizens to work in each other’s countries. The new employment provisions aim to promote collaboration in various sectors and boost economic ties between India and Russia. Authorities highlighted that this would create jobs and enhance skills exchange.

Experts believe the visa-free and employment policies will encourage more people-to-people contact, making it easier for students, professionals, and tourists to move between the two countries. They expect stronger bilateral cooperation in business, education, and technology as a result.

Both governments emphasized that the agreement reflects their commitment to deepening strategic relations. Officials said future discussions would focus on simplifying procedures, protecting workers’ rights, and ensuring mutual benefits from the new policies.
