God’ll punish those behind insecurity, bloodbath in Nigeria – Gumi

Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has condemned the rising insecurity and constant bloodshed in Nigeria, saying those responsible will face divine punishment. He explained that innocent people are suffering every day, and anyone causing pain, fear, or destruction will not escape God’s judgment. According to Gumi, the situation has gone beyond politics and now concerns human life and morality.

Gumi stressed that Nigeria cannot continue on this path, as violence has affected both rural and urban communities. He said criminals attacking citizens should remember that life is sacred, and no one has the right to destroy what God created. He added that leaders also have a duty to protect the people and must take full responsibility for restoring peace across the country.

The cleric urged Nigerians to stay united and avoid pointing fingers at specific regions or religions. He noted that insecurity affects everyone, and blaming one group will only worsen the tension. Instead, he encouraged citizens to work together, support security agencies, and pray for the country’s healing.

Gumi also called on government authorities to implement long-lasting solutions rather than temporary measures. He insisted that justice, fairness, and proper engagement with communities are key to ending the cycle of violence. As Nigerians continue to hope for peace, his message serves as a reminder that both earthly and divine consequences await those fueling bloodshed.
