Kidnappings: Give Igboho, Gani Adams sophisticated weapons to fight terrorists – Pastor Giwa to Tinubu

Pastor Adewale Giwa has called on President Bola Tinubu to provide advanced weapons to Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho and the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, to help fight terrorists causing kidnappings across the country. He said the rising attacks show that community defenders must be empowered to protect their people. According to him, local security groups understand the terrain better and can respond faster than government forces.

The pastor explained that kidnappings have become too frequent, and many Nigerians now live in fear. He believes that allowing trusted community leaders like Igboho and Adams to carry sophisticated weapons will help reduce the activities of terrorists in the South-West and other troubled regions. Giwa argued that Nigeria cannot continue to rely only on government security agencies who are already overwhelmed.

Pastor Giwa also blamed the government for failing to secure lives despite repeated promises. He said many families have suffered because kidnappers now target schools, highways, and villages without fear. According to him, empowering strong regional figures is not to encourage violence but to strengthen community defence where the government is struggling.

He urged President Tinubu to urgently consider the suggestion before insecurity gets worse. Pastor Giwa added that Nigerians are tired of watching kidnappers operate freely and want immediate solutions. He insisted that Igboho and Gani Adams, with proper weapons and support, can help restore peace and confidence among the people.
