The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has strongly condemned the recent kidnapping of students in Kebbi State and the attack on worshippers in Kwara State. The agency described the incidents as heartbreaking and unacceptable, stressing that such acts threaten the peace and stability of the country. NOA said every Nigerian child deserves safety in school, while places of worship must remain secure for people to practice their faith freely.
According to the agency, the rise in violent attacks shows the urgent need for stronger community vigilance. NOA called on residents to report suspicious activities and work closely with security agencies to prevent future incidents. They emphasized that fighting insecurity should not be left to the government alone but should involve everyone in the community.
NOA also noted that unity and cooperation are key to overcoming the current security challenges. They encouraged religious leaders, traditional rulers, and local groups to support campaigns that promote peace, understanding, and early reporting of threats. The agency believes that combined efforts will help protect vulnerable areas such as schools and worship centres.
The agency further reassured Nigerians that the government is increasing efforts to address insecurity, but public support remains crucial. NOA urged citizens to stay alert, stay informed, and take responsibility for promoting a safer society. Their message comes as calls grow for stronger action to stop banditry and violent attacks across the country.
