Human rights advocate Mike Arnold has called for immediate action to secure the release of the schoolgirls abducted in Kebbi State. Speaking under the renewed campaign tag BringBackOurGirls2025, Arnold described the situation as unacceptable and urged both federal and state authorities to act with urgency. He stressed that the safety of the girls must be treated as a national priority, not just another security incident.
Arnold criticized the slow response often seen in kidnapping cases across the country, noting that every minute wasted increases the danger the girls face. He appealed to security agencies to intensify search operations, gather more intelligence, and coordinate effectively with local communities. According to him, Nigeria cannot afford another prolonged abduction saga similar to those seen in the past.
He also called on international partners, humanitarian groups, and global activists to lend their voices once again. Arnold believes that increased global pressure can help push Nigerian authorities into faster and more decisive action. He reminded the world of the Chibok and Dapchi cases, saying the country must not repeat the cycle of delayed rescue efforts and watered-down accountability.
Arnold encouraged citizens to keep the conversation alive on social media and in public spaces. He said the girls’ families are in deep distress and need reassurance that the country is standing with them. He insisted that the government must treat the rescue mission as an emergency and show Nigerians that protecting children is still a core responsibility of the state.
