NDLEA seize 1,455kg of cannibas in vehicles abandoned by suspected drug traffickers in Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a large consignment of cannabis weighing 1,455 kilograms in Edo State. The drugs were found inside two vehicles that were abandoned by suspected traffickers who fled the scene before officers arrived.

According to the NDLEA, operatives acted on credible intelligence and quickly moved to the location, where they discovered the loaded vehicles. The agency believes the suspects escaped upon sighting law enforcement and has launched a manhunt to track them down.

The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug networks across the country, stressing that Edo State remains a major transit route for illegal drug movement. The agency called for stronger community cooperation to help curb trafficking activities.

Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and vowed that anyone linked to the abandoned vehicles or the seized cannabis will be brought to justice.
