Nigeria can’t continue on this path – Atiku condemns Kebbi school attack, Zamfara killings

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the recent attack on a school in Kebbi State and the killings in Zamfara, saying the country cannot afford to continue on its current path of insecurity. He described the incidents as heartbreaking and unacceptable, stressing that Nigeria urgently needs a more effective and unified security strategy.

Atiku lamented that children, who should be safe in school, are becoming targets of violent attacks, while communities in places like Zamfara continue to experience devastating loss of lives. He warned that the constant cycle of violence is weakening the nation’s stability and must not be allowed to continue.

He urged the government and security agencies to act swiftly to protect citizens and ensure that the perpetrators are captured and punished. Atiku also called for stronger collaboration between federal, state, and community security structures to end the rising wave of crime.

He maintained that restoring peace is the only way Nigeria can move forward, adding that leaders must prioritize security and justice to rebuild public confidence across the country.
