Two Nigerians jailed for using forged documents to obtain Ghana card

Two Nigerian nationals have been sentenced to prison in Ghana after being found guilty of using forged documents to obtain the national Ghana Card. The court ruled that their actions violated Ghanaian law, emphasizing the seriousness of submitting false information for official identification purposes.

Authorities revealed that the individuals presented counterfeit certificates and falsified personal details to the National Identification Authority (NIA) to secure the cards. The fraudulent activity was discovered during routine verification checks, leading to their arrest and prosecution.

The judge, in delivering the verdict, highlighted that the use of forged documents for government-issued identification undermines national security and public trust. The sentenced individuals were also fined and warned that any further attempts at fraud would attract harsher penalties.

This case serves as a warning to anyone attempting to manipulate official documents or bypass identification processes in Ghana. It underscores the country’s commitment to maintaining integrity and security in its national identification system.
