PDP is dead – Fayose insists

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has again claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is no longer a strong force in Nigerian politics. Speaking recently, Fayose insisted that the party has lost direction and public support, stressing that PDP as Nigerians used to know it “is dead.”

Fayose said PDP failed to learn from its past mistakes and has continued to suffer internal crises and leadership issues. According to him, the party’s inability to unite and present a clear political vision has pushed many supporters and leaders away.

He added that unless there is a total restructuring and genuine reconciliation, the party cannot regain its place in Nigeria’s political space. Fayose urged members who still believe in the party to wake up and take urgent steps to rebuild it.

His remarks have triggered reactions across the country, with some agreeing that PDP has weakened, while others argue that it remains a major opposition party that can bounce back.
