Ogun East APC leaders reject Gbenga Daniel’s alleged suspension

Political tension grew in Ogun State as leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogun East Senatorial District strongly denied claims that former governor and senator, Gbenga Daniel, had been suspended from the party. According to party stakeholders in the zone, reports circulating about Daniel’s suspension are false, misleading, and aimed at causing confusion within the ruling party.

The APC leaders insisted that no official process or meeting was held to approve such disciplinary action. They stressed that party rules require a transparent procedure before any member—especially a high-ranking figure like Daniel—can be suspended. Therefore, the alleged announcement did not follow due process and holds no weight.

They further described Senator Daniel as a committed party leader who has contributed greatly to the party’s growth in the state. According to them, spreading fake news about his suspension is a deliberate attempt by some individuals to destabilize the party ahead of future elections.

The leaders called on the public and APC members to ignore the rumor and remain united. They urged party supporters to focus on strengthening internal cohesion rather than falling for political distractions and misinformation.
