APC: Cross River chairman rejects calls for resignation, accuses chapter officials of embezzlement

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has dismissed growing calls for him to step down from office. Instead of resigning, he fired back at party members pushing for his removal, accusing some of them of financial misconduct.

According to the chairman, certain chapter officials who are leading the protest against him have questions to answer concerning missing party funds. He alleged that these individuals worked against the APC’s success and mismanaged resources meant for party activities.

He described the calls for his resignation as a distraction and insisted that he remains committed to strengthening the APC in the state. The chairman also stated that the public attacks were part of a plan by internal rivals who are uncomfortable with accountability and transparency under his leadership.

He urged party members and supporters to remain united, assuring them that the APC in Cross River will not be derailed by internal power struggles. The chairman emphasized that he will continue to defend his mandate and ensure that the party stays focused on governance and development.
