Anambra election: APC candidate casts vote, alleges vote-buying, intimidation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Anambra election has cast his vote, but he did not leave the polling booth without raising serious concerns. Speaking to journalists after voting, he alleged that some political actors are engaging in vote-buying and intimidating voters across parts of the state.

He claimed that reports from his agents and supporters indicated that money was being shared at certain polling units to influence voters. According to him, this act threatens the transparency and fairness of the election process, and he urged authorities to act quickly.

The APC candidate also alleged that some voters were being harassed and threatened to vote for specific candidates. He warned that such intimidation could weaken public trust in the election outcome and called on the security agencies to protect voters’ rights.

He stressed the importance of free and fair elections in building democracy, saying that Anambra people deserve a peaceful process where their votes truly count. He also urged voters to stay calm, stand firm, and ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box.

Election observers and security personnel have been deployed across Anambra, and they are expected to monitor the situation as voting continues. Nigerians are closely watching to see how the process unfolds and whether allegations like these will influence the final result.
