Activist Aisha Yesufu has reacted strongly to the reported dismissal of 115 personnel by the Department of State Services (DSS), describing the agency as incompetent. She claimed the move reflects poor management and failure to address deeper issues within the security system.
Yesufu argued that instead of building a reliable and professional security structure, the DSS keeps making decisions that weaken confidence in the agency. She stressed that Nigeria needs strong and transparent security institutions that are accountable and fair.
According to her, dismissing officers without proper explanation only raises more questions about internal operations and discipline procedures. She stated that reforms are necessary to ensure national security agencies operate effectively and earn public trust.
The activist urged government authorities to prioritize genuine reforms in the security sector to build a system that protects citizens and strengthens democracy.
