The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will open their training camp on Sunday, November 9, in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff tournament. The preparation is part of Nigeria’s quest to secure a ticket to the global tournament.
Head coach Eric Chelle is expected to release his squad list next week, with fans eagerly waiting to see which players will be invited for the crucial fixtures. The call-up will include players from both the local league and abroad who are in top form.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final match on Thursday, November 13. If the Super Eagles win, they will then meet either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final. The mini-tournament format gives only one team a direct chance to progress to the World Cup qualifiers’ final stage.
CAF is set to conduct a draw today to finalize match venues for the games. However, two stadiums in Rabat — the El Barid Stadium and the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex — have already been shortlisted as likely hosts for the matches.
With the countdown underway, Nigerian supporters are hopeful the Super Eagles will show strong performance and move closer to returning to the World Cup. The camp is expected to help the team build chemistry, fitness, and strategy ahead of the big tests.
