FULafia gets new Vice-Chancellor

The Federal University Lafia (FULafia) has announced the appointment of Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as its new Vice-Chancellor. His appointment was confirmed in a letter dated October 29, 2025. According to the document, he will serve a single five-year term beginning February 11, 2026.

The university’s governing council expressed confidence in Prof. Kida’s leadership abilities. They believe his academic and administrative experience will help drive growth, innovation, and excellence at the institution. The council also encouraged the new Vice-Chancellor to continue strengthening academic standards and student development.

Prof. Kida takes over from Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, whose tenure is expected to end in February 2026. The university appreciated the outgoing Vice-Chancellor’s contributions and noted that the leadership transition would be smooth and effective.

Before his new role, Prof. Kida served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Science at FULafia. He is an accomplished academic and professional accountant with a long history of service to the university community and Nigerian education sector.

He received his official appointment letter from the Chairman of the FULafia Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande. Many staff and students have already congratulated him, with expectations that his tenure will bring continued progress to the institution.
