A recent attack by Boko Haram in Mafa, Yobe State, has displaced 2,390 people from their homes. The attack, which targeted the Mafa community in Tarmuwa Local Government Area, resulted in the death of two individuals and displaced 475 households from four different villages: Mafa, Bangaro, Ngoyo, and Billiri.

Dr. Mohammed Goje, Executive Secretary of the Yobe Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA), reported that the displaced families are now sheltered in Babban Gida Town, the capital of Tarmuwa LGA. YOSEMA, along with various partners, is quickly assessing the needs of these families to provide essential items such as food, mattresses, blankets, and mosquito nets.

The Yobe State Government is committed to a swift and thorough response to support the affected families during this difficult time. Council Chairman of Tarmuwa LGA, Hon Muhammad Lamido Musa, has confirmed the attack and the ongoing efforts to address the crisis.
