Gov Radda signs N137bn supplementary budget into law

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has approved and signed the 2025 supplementary budget worth N137 billion into law. The new financial plan, which was earlier passed by the Katsina State House of Assembly, aims to strengthen ongoing projects and improve essential infrastructure across the state.

The supplementary budget includes N126.8 billion for capital expenditure and N10.2 billion for recurrent spending. Governor Radda explained that the additional budget was introduced to address funding gaps in key development projects and to ensure that major government initiatives continue without delay.

According to the governor, the new funds will focus on the completion of roads, healthcare centres, schools, water supply projects, and agricultural programmes. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every sector receives the necessary support to promote growth and improve the lives of citizens.

The Katsina State House of Assembly had earlier forwarded the supplementary budget to its Committee on Appropriations, which reviewed and presented a report for final approval. After deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously passed the bill, paving the way for the governor’s assent.

The signing ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Government House, Katsina, and was attended by senior government officials, members of the Assembly, and other dignitaries who commended the move as a step toward sustainable development.
