In a significant police operation early on August 1, the Lagos State Police Command successfully apprehended two suspects in the Mushin area. Sheriff Mustapha, 42, and Suturat Lateef, 28, were taken into custody after a large quantity of weapons was recovered from their possession.
The operation began around 1 am when the police received a call reporting armed individuals on Agoro Street, Mushin. Acting on this tip-off, a tactical team swiftly responded to the scene. Their efforts led to the arrest of Mustapha and Lateef, who were found with a substantial cache of weapons.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the details of the arrest in a statement released later that day. He praised the prompt response of the tactical team and assured the public that further investigations are underway.
