Popular social media activist, Verydarkman, has voiced out his opinion on Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations. In a viral video, he argued that the country is still not truly free despite being independent for over six decades. According to him, many Nigerians are still trapped in poverty, corruption, and bad governance, which makes the celebration of freedom meaningless.

He stressed that independence should go beyond raising flags and delivering speeches. For him, true freedom means citizens having access to good healthcare, better education, employment opportunities, and fair governance. Without these, he insisted that Nigerians are only free in name but still suffering in reality.
