Reno Omokri has reacted to the growing trend of Nigerians using the phrase “May Nigeria not happen to me.” The former presidential aide criticized the statement, explaining that such words reflect negativity and a lack of faith in the country. He urged citizens to be careful with their words, noting that consistent negative declarations can affect both personal mindset and national image.
According to Omokri, people should focus on speaking positively about Nigeria instead of constantly projecting failure and hardship. He argued that while the country faces challenges, constantly saying “Nigeria should not happen to me” only spreads hopelessness among the younger generation and damages Nigeria’s reputation internationally.
He further advised Nigerians to replace such statements with words of hope and encouragement. Omokri stressed that every nation has its struggles, but progress only comes when citizens believe in the possibility of change and commit to building a better future.
