Ongoing Reconstruction Of Sagamu-Ijebu Ode-Benin-Ore Road

The Federal Government has continued work on the reconstruction of the Sagamu–Ijebu Ode–Benin–Ore road, a major highway that links the Southwest to the South-South and Southeast regions. The project, which has faced several delays in the past, is now being executed in phases to ease traffic and improve road safety.

Motorists traveling along the route have expressed mixed reactions, with some appreciating the visible progress while others complain about the heavy gridlock caused by diversions and construction equipment. The road remains one of the busiest highways in the country, serving as a key corridor for trade, business, and inter-state movement.

When completed, the reconstruction is expected to reduce travel time, enhance economic activities, and provide relief for commuters who have endured years of hardship on the dilapidated sections. Many stakeholders are hopeful that the project will be delivered on schedule to avoid further inconveniences to road users.
