Nigerians Want FG To Tackle Insecurity With Same Urgency As Revenue – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged the Federal Government to show the same level of urgency in addressing insecurity as it does in generating revenue. He noted that while the government is quick to implement policies aimed at boosting income, it often appears slow in responding to the worsening security challenges facing Nigerians.

Atiku stressed that insecurity remains the biggest threat to national unity, economic stability, and investor confidence. He pointed out that no meaningful development can take place in an environment where people live in constant fear of attacks, kidnappings, or violence.

He called on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to prioritize security reforms, provide better funding for security agencies, and ensure accountability in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other crimes. According to him, restoring peace across the country should be treated as an emergency just like revenue collection.
