Police denies claims officers have been mandated to remove pockets from their uniforms

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed recent reports suggesting that officers were ordered to remove pockets from their uniforms. According to the Force spokesperson, the claim is baseless and misleading, stressing that no such directive has ever been issued.

He explained that the story circulating on social media was fabricated and aimed at creating confusion and tarnishing the image of the police. The police emphasized that their uniform remains unchanged, maintaining its standard design and purpose.

The Force further appealed to Nigerians to disregard fake news and always verify information from official sources before sharing. They also urged the public to continue supporting the police in their efforts to ensure safety and maintain law and order.
