Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, the highest individual honor in football. The award was presented during a grand ceremony in Paris on Monday night.
The French winger had an incredible 2024/25 season, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists across all competitions. His outstanding form was key to PSG’s most successful year ever, as the team finally lifted their first UEFA Champions League trophy. Alongside that, PSG also secured the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France, completing a historic treble.
Dembélé’s achievement is even more special considering his earlier struggles with injuries and inconsistency, which once put his career at risk. Now at 28, he has fully delivered on the promise he showed as a teenager, reaching the top of world football.
The PSG star beat Barcelona’s 17-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal and several other top players to claim the award. His win not only cements his name among football’s greatest but also highlights PSG’s rise in world football. On the same night, the French champions were also awarded the Best Team of the Year.
