Chief Godwin Obidigbo has raised strong concerns about the condition of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, warning that any conspiracy against his health could push Nigeria into deeper trouble. Speaking on the matter, Obidigbo stressed that Kanu’s continued detention without proper medical care is dangerous, not only for him but also for national peace.
He noted that Kanu’s case has gone beyond politics and must be handled with fairness and humanity. According to him, denying someone access to adequate healthcare while in custody is an abuse of human rights that could trigger unrest. He cautioned that neglecting Kanu’s health would worsen tensions, especially in the South-East, where his supporters remain passionate about his freedom.
Obidigbo further appealed to the Federal Government and relevant authorities to act responsibly and treat the matter with urgency. He warned that if anything happens to Kanu in detention, the consequences could shake the entire nation.
He urged leaders to prioritize dialogue, peace, and justice, adding that political scores should never come before human life. “Protecting Kanu’s health is not just about him, but about Nigeria’s stability,” Obidigbo emphasized.
