Atalanta are preparing to offer Nigeria international Ademola Lookman a new and improved contract as they work to keep him at the club.
The forward recently returned to training with La Dea after a summer transfer standoff. Lookman had pushed for a move to Inter Milan, even going absent from the team when Atalanta rejected the Nerazzurri’s offers.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta want to secure his long-term future with a revised deal that includes a better salary package. Lookman still has two years left on his current contract with the Bergamo side, but the possibility of a January exit remains open if an agreement is not reached.
Lookman has been a key player for Atalanta since joining, and the club hopes that a new contract will convince him to remain committed amid interest from other top Serie A teams.
