A witch who said she was paid to put a curse on conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has spoken about her practice. She claims her magic works but stopped short of saying she caused his death.
The tragic shooting happened at Utah Valley University during a Turning Point USA event. The attack has caused widespread outrage, and authorities are still looking for the suspect.
This comes after a Jezebel article published just days before Kirk’s death. The piece, titled “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk,” described the author buying spells from witches online.
The spells included options like “MAKE EVERYONE HATE HIM” and a “POWERFUL HEX SPELL.” One witch, Priestess Lilin, even sent a video showing Kirk’s photo being burned.
Priestess Lilin, who runs the Etsy shop StrixSisters, told Metro that she practices both white and black magic. She said she does not celebrate death but believes her magic works when combined with group energy. Her shop has received 45 five-star reviews for its spells and services.
After Kirk’s death, Jezebel added a note to the original article condemning the shooting and making clear they do not support political violence.
Josh Jackson, president of Jezebel’s parent company, Paste Media Group, said the story was meant as satire and a reaction to Kirk’s controversial statements.
Charlie Kirk, a well-known supporter of former President Donald Trump, was shot on campus on September 10, 2025. Investigators are still following leads as the search for the gunman continues.
