Publisher and politician, Dele Momodu, has urged President Bola Tinubu to win Nigerians’ trust by highlighting his achievements if he hopes to secure a second term.
He explained that he has known Tinubu for more than 32 years, with their friendship growing stronger during their time in exile from 1995 to 1998 while fighting for democracy.
Momodu, who has often criticized Tinubu’s style of governance, made it clear that he bears no personal grudge against him.
According to him, being a true friend means telling Tinubu the truth—that Nigeria is too vast and diverse to be ruled the same way he dominated Lagos.
In a post he shared on X, Momodu stated that after returning from exile, Tinubu became Lagos governor for eight years and has continued to wield strong influence over the state for 26 years.
Unlike others who aligned with Tinubu’s political camp, Momodu said he chose to build his own career and global brand, which has sustained him over the years.
He stressed that if Tinubu wants another term, he must rely on showing real achievements to Nigerians and not depend on federal power to hold on to control.
