Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has completed a move to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan for the 2025/26 season.
The Nigerian striker arrives from Bayer Leverkusen, where he was part of their title-winning squad. Bremen are counting on him to add more power and goals to their attack.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Bremen will take responsibility for part of Boniface’s wages as part of the deal.
Sharing his excitement, Boniface said to the club’s official website:
“The talks with the management convinced me to join Werder Bremen.
I want to help the team with my performances and reach our goals together this season. I’m looking forward to playing for Bremen and working with my new teammates.”
Head coach Horst Steffen praised the qualities Boniface brings to the team.
“Victor is very strong physically, fast, and has an excellent finish.
He was both a scorer and assist provider during Leverkusen’s championship run. I believe he can be an important player for us this season,” he stated.
Peter Niemeyer, Bremen’s Head of Professional Football, also expressed confidence in the move.
“We are delighted to secure Victor’s loan deal.
He has already proven himself in the Bundesliga with great performances, and we trust he will continue that with us,” Niemeyer noted.
For Boniface, this loan move is a chance to start fresh and show his skills. He will be eager to settle quickly and make a big impact as Bremen push for a strong Bundesliga season.
