Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks, meaning he could miss the Gunners’ upcoming match at Liverpool this Sunday.
The 27-year-old had to leave the field after hurting his left hamstring during Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern after the game, saying the injury looked serious.
“Bukayo was running with the ball and felt a pull in his hamstring. It’s the other one, not the same as last season. He felt it while sprinting, which isn’t a good sign,” Arteta said.
“We need to wait to know exactly how long he will be out. I haven’t talked to the doctor yet, but for Bukayo to come off, it’s significant,” the manager added.
According to BBC Sport, Saka could be out for three to four weeks with a hamstring issue, which may be better than initially feared.
Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard also left the game early, holding his right shoulder in a sling as he exited the stadium.
This comes after Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury during Arsenal’s opening weekend win against Manchester United, and the German player’s recovery time is still unknown.
