Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, made history on Saturday even though his team lost the Saudi Super Cup to Al Ahli.
According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese star is now the first player ever to score 100 goals for four different clubs and his national team.
The 40-year-old, who has previously played for Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid, reached this milestone by scoring in the Super Cup final.
The match ended 2-2 after regular time, and Al-Ahli won the title through a penalty shootout.
Ronaldo had put Al-Nassr ahead by converting a penalty, marking his 100th goal for the Saudi club.
Al-Ahli’s Franck Kessie then equalized before halftime, bringing the score to 1-1.
In the second half, Marcelo Brozovic scored to give Al-Nassr the lead again, but Roger Ibañez scored for Al-Ahli, tying the match once more.
The game was ultimately decided by penalties, with Al-Ahli winning 4-3. Édouard Mendy played a key role by making a vital save in the shootout.
