Oseloka Obi, the son of Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, has spoken about the online stories linking his private life to politics. He called them “distractions” from Nigeria’s real problems.
He said some people have been sharing his personal photos and old stories, then twisting them to mislead the public. According to him, there is nothing special about those pictures—they are normal—and the narratives are fake.
Oseloka explained that he is not active on social media, so many of the posts using his name are made-up. He believes the goal is to attack his father’s image through lies about him.
He also made it clear that he is an actor and a filmmaker, not a politician. He said some people take scenes from his creative work and turn them into political rumours, which is unfair and untrue.
Oseloka praised his father for raising him with strong values—integrity, hard work, and honesty—and said he follows those values in his career.
He added that his support for Peter Obi is based on trust in his leadership, not just because they are family. He believes his father has the qualities Nigeria needs.
Oseloka then urged Nigerians to ignore gossip and focus on serious issues like insecurity, rising costs, corruption, and the poor state of healthcare and education.
In his words, petty talk won’t move Nigeria forward. He encouraged everyone to “go high” and focus on truth while others spread falsehoods.
