Former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, says his record in politics cannot be destroyed by anyone. He explained that his years of service to Nigeria speak for themselves.
Speaking at his home in Sokoto, where a large crowd of supporters gathered to welcome him, Tambuwal described his recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as an attempt to pressure him into joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said clearly, “I cannot be intimidated, I cannot be blackmailed, and nobody can damage the good record that God has blessed me with.”
Tambuwal highlighted his political journey, from becoming Minority Leader in 2003, Deputy Chief Whip in 2007, Speaker of the House in 2011, serving as governor of Sokoto for eight years, and now as a Senator.
He said all these roles show that he has faithfully served both his people and the country.
On the ₦189 billion allegation raised against him, Tambuwal dismissed it as false, stressing that even past investigations by the Sokoto State government found nothing wrong with him.
The Senator also declared that Nigerians are ready to vote out the APC in the 2027 elections.
He said, “We are determined and committed to democracy. By the grace of God, in 2027, we will end this misrule and misgovernance in Nigeria.”
Tambuwal also accused the APC of adopting policies that bring hardship to ordinary citizens and worsen insecurity across the country.
According to him, “Their policies are not for the people. They lack compassion and human feelings.”
Finally, Tambuwal assured his supporters that the opposition will remain strong and united. He promised that Nigerians will not allow election rigging again, adding that with God’s help, the opposition is set for victory in 2027.
