Veteran Nigerian musician Seyi Sodimu has shared his thoughts on who he believes is the most talented Afrobeats artist. According to him, that title belongs to none other than Wande Coal.

Sodimu explained that Wande Coal played a major part in shaping the modern Afrobeats sound, especially by influencing today’s biggest stars like Wizkid and Davido. He said Wande’s unique style helped shift Afrobeats into a new direction, giving it a fresh sound that connected with a younger audience and contributed to the genre’s worldwide success.

In a recent interview with comedian Teju Babyface, Sodimu said that Wande was a turning point in Nigerian music and set the pace for the next generation of Afrobeats artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Sean Tizzle. He strongly believes Wande Coal is the most gifted artist in the Nigerian music scene.

When asked if Wande Coal is receiving the praise he deserves, Sodimu responded by saying it depends on what “getting his flowers” means. He explained that while some might look at streams or charts, real fans love Wande when they hear his music. He also noted that within the music industry, artists truly respect Wande’s talent.

Sodimu added that even Burna Boy could agree with his view. He pointed out that Wande is still doing great work despite not operating at full capacity. He described him as a genius who can sing and write and said that if Wande were working at his full potential, he’d be unstoppable.
