Political analyst and public figure Isaac Fayose has made a bold claim about his potential leadership. He said that if he were to become the governor of Lagos State, he could generate $2 billion in just six months.
Fayose shared his thoughts during an interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he explained his ideas for transforming Lagos into a major technology and entertainment hub in Africa.
He said one of his first steps would be to attract global companies like Google and Netflix to Lagos. According to him, turning Lagos into the home of technology in Africa would bring in huge investments and create thousands of jobs.
Fayose explained further that he would create a special “music city” between the areas of Ikate and Ilashe. This city would only be accessible by boat and would be designed to celebrate Nigerian music stars and creatives. He plans to build luxury apartments in the area, each selling for about a million dollars.
He believes that such a project would not only promote the entertainment industry but also attract international businesses. By doing so, he hopes to convert young people involved in internet fraud (Yahoo boys) into skilled tech workers.
Fayose also criticized the current financial system. He said it’s difficult for ordinary people to get loans from banks unless they have major connections or collateral. He argued that while the state has access to great wealth, most of its people still live in poverty.
He ended by pointing out that despite all the money flowing through Lagos, basic things like stable electricity at the airport are still not functioning properly.
