Former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, has been picked to become the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
His nomination was made official on Monday during a meeting of the Olubadan-In-Council at the Olubadan Palace in Oke-Aremo, within the Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The meeting was led by the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola.
Oba Ajibola announced that the council members had all agreed and signed to nominate Rashidi Ladoja as the next Olubadan. He said their decision would now be sent to Governor Seyi Makinde, who will choose a date for the official presentation of the staff of office to the new monarch.
Oba Ajibola also mentioned that since the burial of the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will take place this week, the installation will not happen immediately.
He added that Governor Makinde could decide whether the ceremony should take place in one, two, or three weeks’ time.
