President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised religious leaders in Lagos State for helping different religious groups live peacefully together. He said their efforts play a big part in keeping the state stable and united.
Tinubu shared this message during the weekend at the ordination of a new church leader, Baba Aladura Prince Gbenga Adeniran-Aluko, who now leads The Saviour’s Ministries Worldwide, Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Alausa, Ikeja.
The President was represented at the event by Bishop Stephen T. V. Adegbite, who is the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC). He used the opportunity to thank churches and other religious groups for supporting his government through their prayers.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that the current difficult times will not last forever. He said his administration is working on important reforms that will bring relief to the people soon.
He also congratulated Baba Aladura Gbenga Adeniran-Aluko on his new position, saying the church needs strong and forward-thinking leadership at this time.
As someone from Lagos himself, Tinubu said he is happy to see religious leaders in the state working together and promoting peace without any signs of hate or discrimination between different faiths.
He praised the peace that Lagos has enjoyed so far and thanked both the religious leaders and the state government for maintaining that unity.
Tinubu ended by asking Nigerians, especially religious people from all faiths, to keep praying for leaders at every level. He said those prayers are important for the country’s growth and development.
