In Zaria, Kaduna State, a young man from Gombe State was found dead with severe cuts over the weekend. His body was discovered near the busy PZ area in Sabon Gari Local Government Area.
It is believed that the deceased and his friends were in Zaria hoping to join the Nigerian Army. A resident reported that the young man had told his friends that his parents had sent him about N1 million. He had even given his ATM card and password to one friend to withdraw N10,000 for food.
Sadly, his friends are suspected to have killed him to steal N800,000 from his account. The police are currently investigating the incident, and the body has been taken to a medical facility in Zaria.
The Public Relations Officer at the Army Depot confirmed they are aware of the incident but stated that the Zaria Divisional Police are handling the investigation.
