Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Felix Osemwengie Isere. This happened after the adviser was accused of raising money for an event without proper approval.

The news was shared on Tuesday through a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor, in Benin City.

The government said it has cancelled the oil and gas summit that was supposed to start on August 7. The summit was linked to the fundraising activities in question.

The SSG made it clear that since the rules were broken, the summit will no longer hold. He also said Mr. Isere must return all the money he collected from people who wanted to support the event.

Lastly, the government advised anyone planning to donate or work with Mr. Isere for the summit to stop all dealings with him immediately, as he no longer has the right to act on behalf of the government for this event
