Snoop Dogg Becomes Co-owner of Championship Club Swansea

Famous American rapper, Snoop Dogg, is now part of the Swansea City family. He recently appeared on the club’s social media, wearing their new home jersey for the 2025–26 football season. Fans were surprised and excited to see him representing the club.

Swansea City has now confirmed that Snoop Dogg is not just a fan — he’s a co-owner of the team. The news came straight from the Welsh club, making it official.

At 53, Snoop joins other big names like Luka Modric, the Croatian football legend and former Real Madrid star, who is also part of the club’s ownership team.

Before the announcement, Snoop had already started working with the club behind the scenes. His photo shoot in the team’s new kit was just the beginning. On Thursday, the club revealed that he is now an investor.

Snoop’s involvement comes after American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen took control of Swansea last year, in November 2024. Their leadership is clearly bringing in fresh energy and big names.

With over 100 million followers on social media, Snoop Dogg (whose real name is Calvin Broadus) is expected to help increase the club’s popularity. The team hopes this attention can help them climb back to the Premier League, where they haven’t played since 2018.

Swansea’s owners also say they want to boost the club’s income. That way, they can spend more on good players while staying within the financial rules that guide football in the UK.

The 53-year-old rapper said on the club’s website: “My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City.

“The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.

“I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”

Swansea announced in April that Modric, who this week joined AC Milan at the age of 39 after leaving Real Madrid, had acquired a stake in the club.

“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club’s reach and profile,” Swansea’s owners said in a statement.

“Snoop’s colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us do that, and he has made clear to us throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.

“Snoop has openly shared his love of football and his desire to be involved in the game and we expect his involvement to support us putting as competitive a team as possible out on the field.”

This move reminds many fans of what happened with Wrexham — Swansea’s rivals in Wales. Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham in 2020, and the team has since risen to the Championship. Swansea may be hoping that Snoop Dogg can bring similar luck and attention.
