The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully prosecuted 15 Chinese nationals in Lagos for being involved in online fraud and cyber-related crimes.
According to EFCC’s announcement, two judges—Justice Ayokunle Faji and Justice Dehinde Dipeolu—delivered the sentences at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi.
Those convicted are Ling Yang, Xiao Hong Will, Wang Zheng Ming, Wang Jia Qi, Yang Sheng, Peng Sen Lin, Guo Xiao Fei, Chen An Shun, Zhao Ying Bin, Yu Zi (also known as Wei Xue Huan), Zhang Yang, Wang Zhi Cheng, and Lu Yubo.
The EFCC explained that each of the men faced separate charges linked to cybercrime and internet fraud activities.
This ruling follows closely behind a similar case in which 14 other Chinese nationals were also convicted of related internet crimes in Nigeria just a few weeks ago.
