ADC: We’ve caught APC unawares, outplayed them – Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, a well-known figure in Nigerian politics and a top member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is rushing to prepare for the 2027 elections.

According to him, the APC has already lost the advantage because the opposition parties have come together and taken them by surprise. Momodu, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), announced that he is now fully with the ADC, a party that is part of the new opposition coalition.

Speaking in an interview on Arise News, Momodu explained that he doesn’t need to mention names because Nigerians already know what is going on. He said that many people are pretending not to see the truth, but things are not going well in the country.

He talked about how PDP started having problems after the 2023 election, with many people unhappy about the outcome. Momodu said he was one of the presidential hopefuls during the party’s primary but didn’t get any votes. Despite that, he’s proud of his 2011 run when he contested and got 26,000 votes across the country.

Momodu also said that while Nigeria is facing serious challenges, politicians seem more focused on who will be president next rather than solving the country’s problems.

He believes that the ruling party is only thinking about power, and not development or helping the people. He said it was clear the government was not interested in fixing the country, so there was no point staying in a party that could not function.

Because of this, he and others in the new coalition decided to stop waiting and start acting. According to him, the ADC and its allies are now one step ahead of the APC, and the ruling party is beginning to panic.

He said the APC didn’t expect the opposition to come together so fast, and now they’re trying everything possible to break the new alliance. Momodu believes their efforts will fail, saying that with God on their side, the ADC will remain strong and united.
