President Donald Trump has spoken out strongly against some of his old supporters and called certain Republicans “stupid” while defending how his government handled the Jeffrey Epstein case.
As more people discuss the Epstein story, Trump claimed the rumors are just made-up stories by Democrats and shouldn’t be believed.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed frustration, saying some of his former backers fell for the lies and called them “weaklings.”
Later, in the Oval Office, Trump said Democrats started the false story, but some foolish Republicans helped spread it, making the situation worse.
Trump is now facing problems from people who used to support him. They believe his government is hiding the truth about Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while facing serious charges of trafficking underage girls for powerful people.
Some of Trump’s supporters believe Epstein was murdered in jail to keep things secret and that there’s a hidden list of people involved. But the FBI and Justice Department recently said Epstein died by suicide and there’s no secret list.
During a meeting with Bahrain’s crown prince, Trump repeated his claims, saying Democrats and “stupid people” are spreading the conspiracy theories. He also tried to shift focus to his success in the economy and international affairs.
When asked if he was turning his back on former supporters, Trump admitted he had lost trust in some people.
Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island. Before becoming president, he said he would release all information about Epstein, but that hasn’t happened yet, which has made some of his followers angry.
There is also tension inside his government. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino have clashed over what to do. Bongino might even resign. Trump said Bondi can release anything that’s verified as true.
Some people who usually support Trump have also criticized him. Senator Ted Cruz said everything should be made public. General Michael Flynn, who once worked closely with Trump, admitted the case has been badly handled and stressed that the real issue is about protecting children.
Flynn, who has spread conspiracy theories in the past, was recently chosen by Trump to help manage U.S. military academies.
This ongoing issue continues to be a big problem for Trump, creating division among his supporters and within his team, as many demand more answers.
