Igbo Group Raises N495M In 30 Minutes For Charity (photos)

A well-known group of wealthy Igbo individuals, called De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), came together for a special meeting on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The meeting took place at the beautiful Acropolis Gardens and Residence in Okija, Anambra State. The group is made up of 207 successful and respected billionaires from different parts of Igboland.

The gathering was led by the group’s National President, Imperial Super High Chief Darlington Nwabunike, also known by the title Ogbaluaku n’anwu na Ojoto and Eze Nwakaibeya. His strong and inspiring leadership has brought many Igbo elites together, all focused on one goal—helping others and making life better for those in need.

During the meeting, members of the group raised more than N495 million within just 30 minutes. This huge amount was far more than their original plan to raise N50 million. The money is meant to support charity projects that will benefit poor patients in hospitals and improve lives in the Southeast.

From the money raised, the group quickly gave out N26.5 million to cover the medical bills of 37 poor patients in hospitals across Anambra State. These patients could not afford their treatment, and the group stepped in to help without delay.

Dr. Darlington Nwabunike explained that this same support will be extended to the other Southeastern states. Their goal is to make sure that the poorest people in the region can get important medical help without worrying about paying hospital bills.

Apart from healthcare support, the group also decided to offer scholarships to 700 students from the Southeast. These are students who are doing well in school but cannot afford to continue their education due to lack of money.

To further support education, the group announced plans to build and fully equip five new school buildings. Each of the five Southeastern states will get one. These schools will help improve the quality of learning and give students a better learning environment.

The event was attended by many notable Igbo businessmen and traditional leaders. Some of the guests included HRM Ebuka Onunkwo, CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Oil, High Chief Ifekudu, Chief Abraham Otti, Super High Chief Henry Orabuchi, Chief Dr. Onyeka Ogbatu of Don Peé wines, Chief Dr. Lucky Udenka, and several others with respected traditional
