You lied about your past, your father disowned you – APC chieftain Eze blasts Wike

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a top member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over some statements he made in a recent interview.

Wike appeared on Channels TV’s Politics Today where he claimed he came from a wealthy family and used to drive his own car to school. He also said his background was different from that of his former boss, Chibuike Amaechi.

During the interview, Wike alleged that Dame Judith, wife of Rotimi Amaechi, received N4 million monthly for training women in Rivers State. He even vowed to resign if a forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) failed to indict Amaechi’s wife.

Reacting to these comments, Chief Eze, an ally of Amaechi, accused Wike of telling lies about his past and trying to deceive Nigerians. He said Wike’s statements only made him look bad in public.

Eze further stated that Wike, who once worked closely with Amaechi, has now turned his back on everyone who helped him rise from poverty.

Eze questioned Wike’s claims of wealth, saying he wouldn’t have become a Local Government Chairman, Chief of Staff to Amaechi, or even a minister without support from others.

He argued that Wike’s attempt to present his family as rich was false. According to Eze, poverty was very visible in Wike’s family, and his father would be ashamed of his son’s lies if he were alive. He also alleged that Wike’s father disowned him at some point and a friend’s father helped pay his school fees.

Eze went on to criticize Wike for attacking Amaechi’s wife. He questioned whether Wike’s own wife, who is a judge, is fit for her role, saying that living with someone like Wike might affect her judgment in court matters.

Eze blamed Amaechi for helping Wike rise politically. He said Amaechi’s biggest mistake was supporting Wike to become Local Government Chairman, appointing him Chief of Staff, and recommending him as a minister during President Jonathan’s time.

Lastly, Eze said Wike’s time as governor only brought destruction to Rivers State. He accused Wike of ruining Amaechi’s projects in agriculture, education, and scholarships, which were designed to improve the lives of Rivers people.
