Inter Miami’s star player, Lionel Messi, is reportedly in discussions with Al-Ahli over a surprising transfer to the Saudi Pro League later this year.
If the move happens, Messi would once again compete in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo, bringing back their famous rivalry.
Ronaldo recently extended his contract with Al-Nassr for another two years, allowing him to continue his career in the Middle East.
Messi’s current contract with MLS club Inter Miami will run out in December 2025. So far, there have been no talks about extending his stay.
This situation has fueled rumors that Messi might leave Miami next year, with many top clubs eager to sign him.
French outlet L’Equipe reports that Al-Ahli have been working “for weeks” to persuade the 38-year-old football legend to join their team.
