ADC: Coalition real threat to APC – Atiku’s aide warns Presidency over attack on Amaechi, Aregbesola, Malami

Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Phrank Shaibu, has told the APC-led presidency not to take the new coalition lightly. He said this group is a real political threat, not something APC can laugh off.

According to Shaibu, the APC is falling apart because of its own failures. He added that the party has no clear values or direction. His comments came after President Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, attacked former APC members who moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), such as Amaechi, Malami, and Aregbesola.

These politicians officially joined the ADC during the coalition’s unveiling event. Shaibu responded by saying that Onanuga is trying to distract Nigerians, especially the youth, from what’s really happening. He described Onanuga’s remarks as bitter and lacking substance.

Shaibu posted a message on X, saying that the APC’s media team is only trying to cover up the truth. He said the ruling party is struggling with its own problems and that this coalition is the first serious opposition they can’t ignore.

He further criticized Onanuga’s comments as being filled with bitterness. He said it was wrong to call respected former APC leaders “disgruntled” just because they no longer support Tinubu. According to him, these leaders helped build the APC, and insulting them shows a lack of respect and judgment.

Shaibu also questioned APC’s values, asking what the party stands for today apart from suffering, insecurity, rising fuel prices, propaganda, and a president who is rarely seen. He blamed APC for the poor economy, joblessness, and rising emigration.

He said the real issue is fear. According to Shaibu, APC is scared of a united opposition and scared of people coming together to challenge them. He described APC’s reaction as similar to someone yelling at ocean waves, hoping they would stop.

Shaibu also said that APC has no right to talk about ambition within the coalition, since it was selfish ambition that ruined APC from the inside. He blamed personal egos for the internal cracks that pushed many leaders away and left the country in the hands of a few who can’t govern.

He accused APC of being desperate and trying to hold onto power through lies. According to Shaibu, this new coalition wasn’t formed out of jealousy, but out of the need to end the suffering Nigerians are going through under APC rule.

He ended by telling Onanuga that his job has been to defend the indefensible. Shaibu said history won’t remember him kindly, but as someone who helped cover up Nigeria’s decline.

He concluded by saying the time for truth is coming, and no amount of propaganda can stop Nigerians from taking back their country.
