Nigerian national arrested with drugs worth over N214m in India

A Nigerian man has been arrested in Bengaluru, India, for selling illegal drugs. The arrest was made by a special police unit called the Central Crime Branch during a raid.

The man’s name is Chukwuma. He was caught while trying to share drugs in the Avalahalli area, which is in the northern part of Bengaluru.

During the operation, police found MDMA and some crystal-like drugs. The total value of the drugs seized is estimated at over ₹1.2 crore, which is more than N214 million in Nigerian currency.

Initial investigations show that Chukwuma has been involved in the drug trade since 2013. Authorities believe he brought drugs into India from other countries and sold them in various parts of Bengaluru, especially on the outskirts of the city.

Police also believe he has ties to a bigger international drug group. His drug dealings are not believed to be local only but part of a wider network.

Before arresting him, officers had been quietly tracking Chukwuma for a few weeks. They waited for the right moment to arrest him and gather strong evidence.

Now that he’s in custody, police are working harder to find out how large the drug network is. They are also trying to identify others who might be working with him.

He is still being held by the police as the investigation continues. Officers are questioning him further to get more useful information.
