LASTMA, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, stated that its officers did not cause the death of a person found hanging near an estate gate along the Lagos-Sagamu Expressway. The agency’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, clarified this in a statement released by Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, on Friday.

Mr. Bakare-Oki addressed rumors circulating on social media suggesting that LASTMA impounded the deceased’s vehicle. He confirmed that the body was discovered early on Thursday by passersby and was promptly reported to the police at Shagamu Road.
